We will be translating short short stories and poems taken from Ulrich Baer, 110 STORIES: New York writes after September 11, New York University Press, 2002. You do not need to buy this book as I will be posting here, under ASSIGNMENTS, all your weekly tasks that you can print yourselves.

The course text – Jeremy Munday, Translation Studies. Theories and applications. Routledge 2001 New edition 2008 (green cover) is available at CELID bookstore.

Students who do not meet the 70% minimum attendance requirement OR the minimum homework turn-in requirement will also study for their oral exam: Massimilano Morini, La traduzione. Teorie Strumenti Pratiche, Sironi Editore, 2007, and will have to discuss it in American English.

Students must carry all books studied on the day of the oral exam. You will not be allowed to take your oral exam if you do not have ALL the relevant books with you.
